School Policies

Please note that it is against state law for students to use cell phones at school. Louisiana Law (ACT 313) states, “no student shall possess, on his person, an electronic communication device throughout the instructional day.” Administrators are not responsible for retrieving lost or stolen items.  If students are caught with these items on the school grounds, they will be confiscated. Students may bring electronic devices to school; however, according to state law, “the electronic device shall be either turned off and properly stowed away for the duration of the instructional day or prohibited from being turned on and used during the instructional day.” 
In accordance with school expectations and Louisiana state law regarding student electronic devices, all student cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off at the beginning of the school day. Devices will be securely collected, stored, and redistributed to students at the end of the school day. Students are not permitted to keep cell phones or electronic devices on their person, in pockets, backpacks, or otherwise accessible during the instructional day. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary consequences in accordance with school and district policies.
